Very easy job. The automatic adjustment ratchet mechanism sometimes doesn't work. I describe briefly, the steps you'll need to take for adjustment.

Note that this is a manual handbrake estate version of the Astra
I did this video after replacing both handbrake cables. Too busy to make a video for that as it involves lifting the rear part of the carpet, so any questions about that just ask and I'll describe the procedure.

Hope this is useful. Editing videos through YT was once easy. Now I only seem able to upload the 'raw' footage and can't edit it.
