Fixing An Old Friend | Fitting An Alternator To A SEAT Ibiza

Hello guys, and welcome back to Car Obsession. Recently my Dad got in touch and said that he believes that the alternator on his car appears to be kaput (that's a technical term, by the way) and needs to be replaced. Instead of paying a professional that knows what they're doing, he was brave (or stupid) enough to let me have a go - what's the worst that could happen?

Long term viewers of the channel may recognise the car, and that's because it's the SEAT Ibiza FR that used to belong to me. This is not strictly a how-to guide, and I'm not a trained mechanic, so anything you copy in this video is done so at your own risk. If you do happen to learn something new, though, that is great *thumbs up*.

In case you're wondering, the Ibiza I'm working on is a 2006 1.8 litre SEAT Ibiza FR, model code 6L (what I would class as the Mk3, but others class as the Mk4), engine code BJX.
