In this video I tackle a very common problem on the BMW 1 Series E87 – a broken exhaust flexi pipe.

On the BMW 118d and other N47 diesel models, the flexi section can crack or completely separate. The tricky part? It’s not always obvious. Because the DPF acts as a silencer, the car may not sound dramatically louder, so the fault can be easy to miss. You might just notice a slight blowing noise, vibration, or exhaust fumes underneath the car.

The important thing?
On many of these cars the flexi pipe is attached to the DPF section. If you go to a main dealer they may recommend replacing the complete DPF assembly… which can cost thousands 😳

Instead of replacing the whole unit, I show you how to repair the flexi section and save a fortune.
