I show you how to replace the alternator on your N55 engine. It's as simple as removing the air intake, fan, and belt to get to the alternator. Also, I give tips on what not to do.

I replaced the alternator while chasing a rough idle with no codes. This fixed the issue. I suspected the alternator due to age and visible corrosion on the alternator pulley. I had already replaced the idler pulley and tensioner, so I leave those in.

One word of advice: Spend the extra 5 minutes to unbolt the AC compressor and support bracket to properly remove the alternator... or you'll be replacing the bracket, as I am in this video.
