This video is about How to replace alternator on BMW E60.
The alternator keeps the battery in a constant state of charge anytime the engine is running. If your lights are dimming or you hear excessive bearing noise around the alternator, chances are that it's time for a replacement.
In my case, the heater stopped blowing air for a few minutes, and then started working again. I found a couple of overvoltage related codes and decided to replace the alternator.
