I bought the car with the common “1 click, no start” & Naturally I started with the basics and looked for missing ground wires. After fixing 1 ground with no start, I then moved on to replacing the IBS sensor in the trunk as well as the ground sensor with a newer HELLA converter wire. The car then cranked a few times but the starter sounded like it was still locking up. After a lengthy YouTube search I decided it was time to just swap the starter & man am I glad I did because it turns out the starter is in fact locking up due to a cracked metal bushing which has broken from inside causing the push rod to lock up when the unit tries to engage.

In the process of changing the starter I broke both of the oil lines on the intake so I’ll be ordering those next and finishing the job to hopefully get the car rolling & ready for the body work & fresh paint coming soon 🤙
