Replace CYLINDER HEAD GASKET and tighten BOLTS - PART 12 - REBUILD BMW N43 Motor

- RE-BUILD N43 Motor SERIES Part 12
- BMW E91 2008 Touring with engine N43B20A
- Cylinder head gasket is a rubber-coated beaded metal gasket
- Make sure that the engine block and cylinder head surfaces are completely clean when installing the seal!
- Resurfacing cylinder head sealing face
- I used a cylinder head and an engine block in a machine shop to clean the surfaces
- Check evenness of cylinder head sealing face with a standard straight-edge
- Maximum plane deviation: longitudinal 0.10 mm
- Maximum plane deviation: transversal 0.05 mm
- The non-return valves protrude slightly when installed,
- check fitting sleeves for damage and correct installation position
- A non-return valve and a spacer bush are installed in the engine block on the 1st cylinder for both the intake side and the exhaust side
- Put the cylinder head on
- Fit new cylinder head bolts
- Apply a light coat of oil to washer contact area and thread of new cylinder head bolts
- Position bolts (M10 and M9) according to length
- Tighten cylinder head bolts in the sequence
