This customer's 2004 BMW 330i with over 150,000 miles came in with multiple problems; his ac compressor was completely shot, coolant was continuously leaking (several shops had attempted to find the leak but failed) and the engine was dripping oil. Factoring the age and mileage of the car, and the customer's intention on keeping his 330i for awhile, he agreed to all repairs and PM (preventative maintenance) work. PM is a repair process used in aviation and the military to keep vehicles and aircraft operational by replacing wear components before they fail. This reduces the possibility of aircraft inadvertently failing while airborne and vehicle breakdowns during combat operations. Unlike auto manufacturers recommending specific repair service being perform based on mileage or age, PM machines employ an engine run time clock (re: Hobbs meter) and schedules repairs based on the number of hours of usage of the specific part. So in the spirit of PM, the following parts were replaced whether failing or still operational:

Upper and Lower Radiator Hoses
Coolant Recovery Tank
Coolant Recovery Tank Hose
AC Compressor
AC Condenser
AC Accumulator
AC Schrader Valve
Oil Filter Housing Gasket
