On the last MOT I received an advisory for the exhaust flexi pipe, minor leak.

The Flexi has now broken completely and I was quoted over £500 to have it replaced as the Manifold, Cat and Flexi is a complete unit.

I found a repair pipe at my local C.E.S motor factors for £64.40 including a gasket and clamp, just needed to get nuts, bolts and some exhaust paste. Total cost £68.89.

They are available on eBay around £54.00 but I could not wait for delivery as I needed car.

It’s a real pain to do due to the lack of space where you need to cut the pipe below the Cat, I managed it using a cutting disc mounted on a mandrel and a flexible drive driven by my electric drill.

Managed it in the end and saved a few pounds, took about four hours but would do it quicker if needed to do it again as I spent some time working out how best to cut etc.
