Before changing the window regulator try a control module reset. I'm grateful to the comments below and this description:-


The control module looses track of where the window fully up and fully down position is, so needs to be reset. I've just been out to the car today and done the reset...........Hold the door window switch in down position for 30 seconds then release and press again for 5 seconds. Then repeat the procedure holding the switch in the up position.
