Part 1/2 Will the DPF unblock& then regen? Hopefully save £300 if I can clean and regen or it’s gonna be an expensive month! How to remove and clean a DPF on the mk4 Mondeo. In part 1 with the car stuck in limp home mode I decided to remove the DPF filter and try to decoke it using some Wynns DPF CLEANER. I left the cleaner in for the maximum amount of time 8 hours & then flushed it out with boiling hot water. After doing this I allowed it to dry for a day before refitting, when refitting I used new 15mm nuts. I had already filled up using super clean diesel and I then drove for approximately 1.5 hrs on the motorway in 4th gear. On start up the car was sending white smoke out the back of the car but as soon as I hit 60 mph the smoke disappeared… in part 2 I will connect the fault code reader & check what fault codes are stored & go through the process of regenerating the DPF!
