Replacing a Ford Mondeo Mk4 alternator, well the alternator on the mk4 decided to give up and stop working so i set out to replace it. Bit of a mare of a job to do with the car on the ground but I done it.

One way to check if the alternator is at fault is to use a multimeter and with the engine off the battery should read around 12.6v and when the engine is running should show around 14.4v and as you can see from my footage when the engine was off it showed 12.1v and when the engine was running it dropped to 12v.

So this led me to believe the alternator had given up. This took me about 7 hrs to do what with filming and just taking my time. But I am sure if I was not filming it to help you all out I could of done faster, but I like to show everything as best as I can, lol.

Torque settings:
A/C compressor mounting bolts - 24Nm
Alternator mounting bolts - diesel engines 25Nm
Alternator decoupler bracket bolts - 25Nm
