This is a short video explaining how to replace the camshaft sensor on a 53plate 2.0 TDCI Mondeo. This car had been giving difficulty in running which consisted of a misfire in the mid rev range. In my opinion the injectors get the blame for lots of engine malady's that aren't directly injector related. However I'm not a qualified mechanic but as this short video shows, this job is well within the scope of amateur mechanics. The only tool required is an 8mm socket & ratchet. It seems that the black camshaft sensors are not very reliable & that the newer grey sensor is an improved part.These sensors are a direct replacement & are available on E Bay. They are inexpensive to buy, so if you've got the flashing glow pug light why not give it a try, you've got nothing to lose.
