Here's how to remove and replace the ball joint on the front lower wishbone/control arm on a Mercedes Vito vAN W639 OM646 111 CDI, the ball joint wears out and can eventually fail ours had a metal clunking/banging sound. It's a job you can do yourself but you will need quite a few tools and patience, the enter control arm can be bought new for 3-4x the price of the ball joint however these were original Mercedes control arms so we just decided to replace the worn part and clean them up.
