Replacing the alternator on my 2011 Mercedes S550 4Matic this applies to all S series Mercedes from 2006 to 2012 W221.

This was my first time replacing an alternator on a Mercedes. I'd rate this Job a 5/10 in toughness. If you have the correct tools it's a straight forward job. What makes it difficult is the amount of parts you must remove in order to get the alternator out freely.
