Mercedes A B Class Klasse A-Class A-Klasse B-Class B-Klasse W168 W169 W245 Steering Box / Rack to U-Joint / Shaft Separation. When doing this way avoid nicking the u-joint.
This is not the official way. If joint seized, for certain production numbers, Mercedes WIS says to cut the u-joint ear and then use a puller from the top against the steering gear input shaft. Then replace shaft with new one.
Not certain if my way damages steering torque sensor. Will find out after. Mercedes cautions against lots of force. Do at own risk. I had to choose between cutting or this. This at least gives you another option if stuck.
