In this video, I show my own method for removing the starter on a Mercedes-Benz A-Class W168 A160.

The starter location on this model is difficult, as the engine is mounted flat and the starter sits high in the middle of the engine.
Instead of fully dropping the engine, I demonstrate how to partially lower it to gain access to the starter.

The process includes releasing the alternator belt, removing the alternator and the AC compressor (if equipped), removing the flange with idler pulleys and tensioner, and loosening the subframe to lower it slightly.
With the subframe lowered, the starter wiring and mounting bolts can be accessed and removed from underneath the car.

This video shows a practical, real-life workshop method rather than a factory procedure.
