The video is a critical how-to for the engine timing. In it you will find the answer to the question if the engine timing is ok or not. It is important for the valve stem seals job, valve clearance adjustment job, valve head gasket job and for every other job where timing chain will be dismounted from the cams and you do not want to disassemble the timing chain cover to look if you are in line with the timing. This is why it was done.

Therefore, in it, you will find some (now unnecessary) cams dismounting, but if you checked the valve clearance before and it is too low, you can replace the valve lifters for correct sized ones and have valve clearance adjusted (there is a separate video to this). And while we are here, we can also swap the valve stem seals and get the horrible oil consumption down a bit (a spearate video to this is already public). But also if you did not changed the engine oil regularly enough and experience noises from the dirt in oil weared off timing chain, meaning the chain tensioner reached its end, you can just do this timing chain swap job only.

Please be reminded, that an engine flush should be done as dirt will enter the engine while it is open. We can use the old oil for this, if it was drained to a clean pan.

- O rings for timing chain cover (and oil strainer flange, if you did pry the chain cover before :)
- sealing ring for the crank
- timing chain, if you need to
- brake cleaner
- valve cover sealing
- heat resistant silicone gasket
- probably new spark plugs
- probably new engine oil
- probably new V belt, if we are on it
- paper towels
- rags to cover the opened engine
- some replacement screws if they get lost :)
