Every R50, R52, R53 MINI leaks oil from this pesky seal- here's how to fix it. Often misdiagnosed as oil pan or rear main seal leak. You need to first put the car into front end service mode or remove the radiator to get access to crankshaft sensor.

This can be done without removing the radiator but you have to go by blind feel. It's doable but easier with the radiator out of the way.
Commonly misdiagnosed as a bad rear main seal or leaking oil pan gasket. The part is cheap, replace it while you're in there or make a project out of it!
