A few years back I bought my mum a lovely 2015 Hyundai i10 (1 Litre) to replace her Corsa C. Since then it had developed a 'shush shush' noise that we suspected to be a timing chain noise. Dad took the car to a Hyundai Master Technician who sadly couldn't fully diagnose the problem. After some basic diagnostics, Dad realised that it wasn't a belt noise, nor a rattle or bang and the likelihood was that the original timing chain had stretched and needed replacing. His main concern was that the VVT system in the car had gone wrong. In this video Dad shows you how to diagnose your fault, strip down the engine, replace the chain and put it back together again.

Hopefully this helps you with your own diagnosis and repair - For reference the engine in this car is the 1.0 L MPI (G3LA) Kappa engine.
