In this video, we replace the centre rear brake light on the mk2 Audi TT. They commonly fail but are a cheap part to replace. We replaced this one with a blacked-out version available on eBay for about £25 to £30.

Tools Required:

1 X T20 Torx screwdriver
1 x Trim removal set
1 x new replace brake light unit
1 x Flathead screwdriver

0:13 Remove boot/trunk trim piece
0:20 Undo 2 x T20 Torx screws
0:25 Remove trim panel (10x metal clips pop out)
1:11 Disconnect wire plug from existing brake light
1:25 Remove existing brake light unit bolts
1:43 Raise boot spoiler
1:48 Prize off existing brake light unit
2:12 Pull off brake light unit
2:17 Vacuum brake light recess
2:27 Scrape of sticker residue
2:37 Apply solvent to remove all sticker residue
2:55 Test new brake light unit
3:01 Peel off protection from new brake light sticker
3:09 Position new brake light unit
3:21 Refit brake light bolts
3:27 Connect electrical connector to new brake unit
3:41 Attach boot trim panel
3:56 Screw in 2 x torx screws and refit boot piece trim
