If you have a wire going to the brake pad, it's a brake pad wear sensor. Simply pull it out of the pad or install a new one if wire is compromised.

Front brake pads and rotors replacement on an Audi B9 chassis. This is a monobloc caliper design, and comes as an upgradeable option in some countries I believe.
