This DIY is applicable to all of the P1 and P3 chassis 5-cylinder Volvos (turbo and/or naturally aspirated).

Alternator Failure Symptoms:
-Battery drains while the car is running
-Low voltage generated while the car is running
-Dim or flickering headlights
-Dim or flickering interior lights
-Electrical systems such as the radio, power windows, or sunroof do not function

Serpentine Belt Failure Symptoms:
-Squealing Noises
-Power steering failure
-Belt fraying/splitting
-Visibile cracks on the belt
-Engine overheating/running hot
