HOW TO: REPLACE SPARK PLUGS on a Toyota Yaris!! SAVE £££`s & DIY!!

In this instructional video we will show you how to replace your spark plugs. Follow this step by step guide, change your spark plugs and tick one more thing off your cars service list!
Step 1.
Gain access to your spark plugs by removing any covers, air box`s etc.
Step 2.
If your car has a HT lead system be sure to label which lead goes to what cylinder. Get it muddled up and it won`t run!
If you have a coil setup its good practice to label them up if they are individual coils. If it`s a single coil that does all cylinders just remove away!
Step 3.
Undo all of the spark plugs completely. To get them out you can use a magnet, long nose pliers etc but an HT lead or an individual coil works great.
Step 4.
Unbox the new spark plugs and check the gap with a feeler gauge. The spark plug gap should be in your manual.
The feeler gauge should slide in the gap with a slight amount of friction. If too loose, gently bend the electrode ground little by little until the gauge fits nicely.
Nine times out of ten they come pre gapped but its worth double checking and saves you doing the job twice!
Step 5.
Insert each new spark plug into its hole and start doing them up carefully by hand/socket & extension bar.
You really don`t want to cross thread them!!
Once nipped up check your manual for the tightening torque setting. This Yaris was 18NM. If you don`t have a torque wrench go by feel. Turn until it goes tight and then nip it up a bit extra.
Step 6.
Replace all the coil pack(s) or HT leads in the same order they came off. Replace any covers, air boxes etc.
