The 'official' interval for a Citroen C1 oil service or a Peugeot 107 oil filter change is 12,000 miles. I've found this engine runs cool at the top end (cam chamber) and prone to having 'mayo' in the oil cap (esp in winter) so I suggest changing oil and filter twice a year to prevent sludging issues.

I cannot advocate using the "SCREWDRIVER THROUGH THE CAN" method of removal. I've seen someone be stuck with a filter they couldn't get off!! If you're in this situation and you've pierced the filter, you won't be able to refill your sump to drive it to a garage, leaving you well and truly stuck!!
