In this video we will replace the AC radiator (condenser) and the AC compressor valve. Before this replacement the low pressure was about 4 bars and the high never went over 12 bars. When the high side hit the 12 bars mark it would fall back to about 9 bars and it would not rise anymore. So the AC was cooling when the engine was idle but not when at a higher rpm. A workshop advised changing the compressor but after searching a little bit I decided to change the regulation valve only, the radiator was changed just because it's age and corrosion, it was not leaking yet but efficiency was maybe at 60 -70 %. It would still work but it would put unnecessary ware on the compressor as this works on higher pressures.
Of course changing the compressor would have also fix the issue but at a much higher cost. Keep this is mind and always ask for a second opinion before throwing out a lot of money. Of course there will be cases when there is no other solution but if you are having the above symptoms it most likely the valve not the entire compressor.
